The Frigate South Carolina

65.99

This is an historic Frigate. It was the largest to fly the American flag during the American Revolution. She was built in Amsterdam and entered the service of the South Carolina State Navy in 1781. She downed 5 British ships, and also participated in the capture of Nassau in the Bahamas. She was captured by the British in a battle on the Delaware River, in 1782.

This is an original acrylic painting on wood. It is a 7" round piece. The Frigate is shown sailing in the dawn. It can either hang on the wall (once a hanger is attached), or simply adorn a mantel. Signed and dated by CWM, the artist.
